Steak Spaghetti Recipe
Serves: 4
Time: 30–40 minutes
Ingredients:
- 12 oz spaghetti
- 1 lb steak (ribeye, sirloin, or NY strip), sliced thin
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan to serve
Instructions:
- Cook the pasta:
Boil spaghetti in salted water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain. - Season the steak:
Pat the steak dry, and season generously with salt and pepper. - Sear the steak:
In a large skillet over high heat, heat 1 tbsp olive oil. Sear steak slices 1–2 minutes per
side until browned but still tender. Remove and set aside. - Make the sauce:
In the same pan, lower heat to medium. Add remaining olive oil, garlic, and onion.
Sauté 2–3 minutes. Stir in tomato paste, cook for 1 minute, then add crushed
tomatoes, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 8–10 minutes. Season to taste. - Combine:
Toss cooked spaghetti into the sauce. Add a splash of pasta water if needed for
looseness. Stir in the steak slices just before serving to keep them tender. - Serve:
Plate it up with grated Parmesan and a sprinkle of fresh herbs.
